The "Joyful Donkeys"

God has blessed jnX with some wonderful volunteers. We are grateful to them for their dedication and heart to serve. We are thrilled to know that God has touched their lives through the jnX experience, and here are a few testimonials:

So, about jnX. It was a blessing for me to have an opportunity to work with jnX. I felt very welcomed throughout the time we spent together. One thing I notice about jnX is that once worship begins, everyone puts their differences aside and instead puts his/her focus on God. The group enjoys making music together when we are united in the spirit of God. Overall, I had a very positive experience working with jnX.

What is/was your most memorable experience [with jnX] and how were you affected spiritually by that experience?
Too many to mention all, but most of the most memorable experiences happened during the first asia trip 2000 getting the sense of God's guidance every step of the way and people's hearts melted because of worship.
What did you like the most about working with joyful noise Xpress?
Getting my eyes opened wide to what God's doing in the world today and feeling like being on "God's worship team."
How has jnX changed (if it has) how you approach worship and your spiritual walk? I started being a worship leader in church in January 2001 as a result of the things I learned and the encouragements I felt from the asia trip 2000, and my approach to running the worship dept at my church has been changed.

first of all i thank God for getting us to know each other to work for His glorification. i had a chance to work with jnXpress at a "worship and music conference " which was held at Nagaon, India on Dec 7th to 9th 2001. Worship leader was Anthony Chan, who led us anointingly and powerfully. I was a member of the worship team which led the worship.

well, the experience i had working with the joyful noise Xpress was a very very blessed one. i was very much blessed to see the spirit of God moving among the people. i had a chance to retreat and re-check my walk with God. God's work is so amazing. while we were worshipping together, it crossed my mind that, isn't it just wonderful how God works, bringing people from the other side of the globe to another, to fulfill His plan. i pray that i get one more chance to work with you guys for the extension of God's kingdom. it was really a wonderful experience.

Serving God in jnX ...enables me:

- to be a joyful worshipper in daily life;
- to become a prayer warrior;
- to be more dedicated to serve God despite my unworthiness.

The 8/26/01 concert at Hope EFC was the most memorable to me. During equipment set up, the sound was bad and we didn't know what [was] wrong. But as we prayed for the Lord to help, we were able to tune the sound so well that it became the best sound we have ever had! During the concert, I was so amazed that some people were totally into the worship that they were dancing in their seats to praise the Lord. The Spirit was definitely present and with us, for without It, nothing could be achieved. May each and every glory be to our Lord!

This past October joyful noise Xpress led a worship service at a Chinese Vineyard Christian Fellowship in San Jose. Anthony asked me if I would play bass guitar on the worship team for the event, and I agreed to do it. It was a time of heartfelt worship and as I reflect on the experience I am very glad that I was able to be a part of it. I can think of at least three ways in which the experience was encouraging to my faith.

The most obvious blessing was the opportunity to be a part of worship that Anthony was leading. Anthony is a sincere and joyful worshipper. He has such an obvious love of God and he is able to stand in front of a group of people and really express his heart through songs and prayer. During the worship set, Anthony's open heartedness towards God made it easy for me to join in with him and begin to express my own personal thanksgiving to God as well as come to a place where I can stand before God and receive from Him. Anthony sets the vibe in the room that the focus is on our wonderful loving Lord.

The Joyful Noise Express service also introduced me to a new community of brothers and sisters in Christ who speak a different language, but share the same joy of knowing and worshiping God. All the worship songs were sung in Chinese, but I could sense that we were all crying out with the same emotion and so it was encouraging to know that God is truly the God of all people, and that worship brings people together and unifies them into one family.

And not only does God unify different ethnic groups, but I experienced God in the way that He brought forth a unified effort from all who worked to make the Joyful Noise Express service happen. Although I was newcomer to joyful noise Xpress, the other musicians and volunteers were warm and gracious to me. There was a spirit of teamwork that allowed the band to play with unity and beauty. And the band itself was merely one part of a larger team of volunteers that included ushers, dinner providers, sound and light engineers, and prayer supporters. I felt served my many people whom I didn't even know and it was very gratifying to feel like I was playing a worthwhile role as part of a team. It was encouraging to see the Body of Christ in action. - Timothy Landhuis, Sunnyvale, CA

i am really blessed working together with you. even though we were so insignificant, we learned that we need to be clothed with humility and that i learned from seeing [Ian, Anthony and Isabella] working together with humility. i guess i learned what it is to be a 'donkey 'for Christ really means. it was a great learning experience. and i thank God for that ... time management is something our team was lacking in. thank you for teaching us about that without being harsh. we are working on that. thanks to all of you And thank you for letting us to be a part of your team.

One lesson that God enabled me to learn from being a part of jnX is to be completely dedicated to God in all things that I do in Him.

I thank God that I was blessed to have worked with a team of dedicated musicians with "professional" Christian attitudes. I pray that God will continue to bless jnX ministries and expand its territories, and that I might continue to have opportunities to work with jnX.

I served with jnx at the concert in San Jose in October 2001. It was an amazing experience to work with Anthony and his band. I see true dedication to Christ in this man. I admire him personally, musically, and as a brother in Christ. I was privileged to play flute, alto saxophone, harmonica, vocals and percussion.

I enjoyed all the people in the band, and found it to be a very special time.

God Bless jnx.

I wish to take a moment to thank God for all I have enjoyed during the "Worship and Music" conference in Nagoan. I realize that words are insufficient in praising GOD for allowing me to work with jnX where I have learned many new things through their people. I had a marvellous time,learning many new songs, getting along together and attending workshops on different topics. Especially the workshop on "Biblical Worship" by Anthony Chan ---his words were very simple and clear and I have learned a lot about what worship really was.I enjoyed the practice session and worshipping together the most. I give God all the glory and honour for everything.
