(Translation) After hearing the sharing by jnX, I have a thought: The major premise of all praise and worship is our love to God and our heart to serve; without which we can get burnt out. Sometimes, we may receive more blessings if we just pause and recharge the battery of our spiritual life, then set out again... I hope one day our church will have a worship team that glorifies God in the same way!

Instructors:
Anthony Chan - worship leader / songwriter / singer / keyboardist / voice instructor / video artist
Anthony is the Founder of jnX and has involved in music ministry for over 30 years. His passion is to share his experience with other Christian musicians and encourage them to be a true worshiper. Originally born in Hong Kong, Anthony began studying music at a very young age. He had conducted choir for eight years and led his choir on a performing tour in the Philippines. He came to the States in 1986. He got his MFA in Film Production from Temple University. Later he studied under several instructors at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, and became a full time singing coach, with an emphasis on contemporary/pop singing style; many of his students have won numerous singing contests in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 1996, he has been one of the worship leaders at his church. Trained classically in piano and served as pianist in traditional church for years, he has crossed over to contemporary style and he leads worship from the keyboard. He has produced 3 CD albums: “Love Journeys”, “Draw Me Close to You” and “Wait…”. Anthony regularly conducts training workshops for local worship teams and churches when he and the jnX team are not traveling.
Bobby Medcalf - singer / songwriter / drummer / bassist / guitarist / worship leader / worship pastor / teacher
Bobby Medcalf is a drummer, singer, songwriter, bassist, guitarist, leader and pastor of worship and teacher with twenty-five years of musical experience; and ten years of experience as a leader and pastor of worship. He is currently working as a guest worship leader and drummer at local churches, as well as teaching drum and guitar lessons. Bobby is also currently training a youth worship team at a local church. "I love kids, being with them and watching them and thinking about what it says in Psalm 8:2, 'From the lips of children and infants, you have ordained praise.'" Bobby's life prayer is taken from Ephesians 6:19. It says, "Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel." He is exceptionally excited about the opportunities with the jnX worship team to travel and meet and work with musicians from around the world as we worship together the one true God. Bobby is a very humble servant of God.
Isabella Chan - health advocate
Isabella holds a B.A. in Religion and a M. Phil. in Communications. She is very committed to healthy living. Her passion is to research and gather information on health related issues. She has accumulated a wealth of data over the years. Whenever the jnX team is on the road, she helps the team members to maintain a balanced diet, making sure everyone is healthy and strong to serve. She has been invited to conduct the "Health Tips for Singers" workshop in Hong Kong and Singapore. She is thrilled to share what she has learned, encouraging the body of Christ to live a balanced life, to be a good steward for God's temple - our body.
Timothy Chan - bass player / sound engineer / worship leader / web designer
Tim has been actively involved in worship ministry as a bass player, sound engineer, and worship leader over the last ten years, serving God with joyful noise Xpress, his church, and with various Chinese Christians musicians and organizations. He has traveled on the majority of jnX's worship mission trips, playing bass and conducting bass and sound tech workshops in USA, Hong Kong,
China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and North East India. He has served as the worship ministry coordinator in two churches. Currently he's studying at the Worship & Arts Conservatory, and he has also received music training from the Jazzschool in Berkeley. He owns a home project studio that's frequented by jnX musicians and others. He also runs an audio consultation business called S2J Productions. Ultimately, Tim's passion is to mentor musicians and sound techs
in Asian churches so they can play more skillfully and worship more fervently. |
